Junior Roberto Gallo scored a goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in the contest to give visiting Butler a 2-1 victory over UW-Green Bay in the final regular season Horizon League match for both teams at Phoenix Field in Green Bay, Wis., on Sunday (Oct. 31). The win lifted the Bulldogs to 12-5-1 on the year, 6-1 in league play and gave Butler a share of the regular season title with UW-Milwaukee.
Gallo's clutch goal came off a free kick. Junior Scott Olsen played the ball to the far post and Gallo finished with a header to the back of the net. The goal, less than five minutes into the match, was the eighth of the season for Edgington, giving him a share of the team lead with Olsen.
UW-Green Bay (5-10-2, 2-4-1 HL) trailed 1-0 at halftime, but tied the match at 59:58 on shot from seven yards out by Brandon Steenlage. It was one of just three shots the Phoenix managed in the final 45 minutes.
