Aug. 1, 2007

Butler men's soccer coach Kelly Findley has announced the addition of a goalkeeper coach and a switch in duties for his current assistant coaches in preparation for the upcoming 2007 soccer season. Findley will begin his second season at the helm of the Bulldogs when fall preseason camp begins on August 13.

New to the Bulldogs' staff this season will be goalkeeping coach Miles Glynn, who is the founder and director of the Indiana Goalkeeper Academy. Glynn also serves as the goalkeeper coach for the Indiana Olympic Development Program (ODP), and he has served as a goalkeeper staff coach for U.S. Soccer Region 2 ODP. Previously, he served as the men's and women's assistant coach at Anderson University. Glynn holds the National C, GK, and Y coaching certificates from the United States Soccer Federation.

"I'm very excited to have Miles joining our staff as goalkeeping coach," said Findley. "Miles is organized, knowledgeable and committed to being the best. He works very hard on the craft of coaching, and I know he will be a vital component to our success."

In addition to the appointment of Glynn, Findley announced a switch of roles for his current assistant coaches, Mike Rivas and David Costa.

"Coach Rivas' role will be the primary fitness trainer, but he also will play an important part in the tactics and development of a strong team mentality. Mike possesses a great work eithic as well as a wealth of experience, and we have been very fortunate to have him on our staff," stated Findley. "David have been given the title of recruiting coordinator, among other responsibilities, and he has been elevated to full-time status. David brings a great personal commitment to excellence, which has been vital in bringing in top players."

"To build any successful program, you have to have a quality staff, and I am very excited about the changes and additions we have made to the Butler men's soccer staff for the 2007 season," added Butler's head coach.

Butler will open the 2007 season with an exhibition match at Cincinnati on August 21. The Bulldogs will play an exhibition match at home against Xavier at 4 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, August 25, and then open the regular season at the Dayton Tournament, August 31-September 2.
