Frank Patano Named Horizon League Player Of The Week

Junior forward Frank Patano, who helped lead Butler to the team championship at the Courtyard By Marriott Flyer Classic, has been named Horizon League Men's Soccer Player of the Week. Patano is the first player to be honored by the league this fall.

Patano was named the Most Valuable Player at the Flyer Classic, after helping the Bulldogs to victories over St. Francis (Pa.) and Sacramento State. He scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 90th minute, in Butler's 3-2 victory over St. Francis, and then he added a goal and an assist in Butler's 4-0 win over Sacramento State.

With his performance at the Flyer Classic, Patano has grabbed the early scoring lead in the Horizon League. He tops the circuit in points and points per game, and he's tied for the league lead in goals, goals per game and shots. The Butler foward tied for fifth in the league in scoring last season.
