Kentucky Wesleyan (exhibition)
|Friday, Nov. 2 - 5:00 p.m. ET|
|Indianapolis, Ind. - Hinkle Fieldhouse
The new-look Butler women's basketball team will get its first in-game action Friday in an exhibition contest against Kentucky Wesleyan at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Douglas, who started 27 of 30 games last season, will be expected to provide an offensive spark for Butler. The sophomore guard was the Bulldogs fifth leading scorer last year (7.3 ppg) and is capable of scoring points in bunches, indicated by her 31-point outburst in a March 3 win over Wright State.
Howard led Butler in free throw percentage a year ago, shooting an impressive 92 percent from the charity stripe, en route to scoring 7.7 points per contest.
Friday's match-up will be the first look at seven new Bulldogs.
Schippers, who started 17 games for Oklahoma State as a freshman, will be the primary ball-handler for Butler this season, while McClung is expected to be a key member of the Bulldogs' front court.
Kentucky Wesleyan is returning all five starters from last season, including leading scorer Karly Rhoads (9.3 ppg).
The Panthers went 17-13 last season and 8-10 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Friday's game is set to tip off at 5 p.m.
