Kurt Godlevske Named Butler Women’s Basketball Coach
Butler’s search for a new women’s basketball coach ended where it began. Vice President and Director of Athletics Barry Collier announced on Tuesday (May 6) that interim head coach Kurt Godlevske would become the permanent head coach for the Bulldogs.

Women’s Basketball Announces Team Awards
The Butler women’s basketball program hosted their annual end of the season banquet last night at Maggiano’s. Award winners included Daress McClung as team MVP, Mandy McDivitt as the top defensive player on the roster and Lexus Murry, who was selected as the team’s most improved player.

The Butler women's basketball team was eliminated from the 2014 BIG EAST Tournament on Sunday with a 61-52 loss to No. 3 seed Creighton. The Bulldogs finished the 2013-14 season with a 15-15 record which included a 10-8 mark during their first BIG EAST season.

The Butler women’s basketball team will face Creighton in the quarterfinals of the 2014 BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Bulldogs ended the regular season on a three-game winning streak, their longest of the season, as they attempt to keep the streak alive throughout the tournament.

BIG EAST Announces Regular-Season Award Winners
Liz Stratman and Daress McClung were each honored by the BIG EAST Conference on Wednesday afternoon as the league office announced regular-season awards for the 2013-14 women’s basketball season. Stratman became the just the second player during Head Coach Beth Couture’s tenure to be named Defensive Player of the Year and McClung was tabbed Second Team All-BIG EAST.

Butler Earns Road Win at Creighton
The Bulldogs defeated Creighton on Tuesday night by the final score of 67-59, becoming the first BIG EAST team to win at D.J. Sokol Arena this season. Winners of three-straight, Butler will play Creighton again this Sunday in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament.

INDIANAPOLIS – Sophomore guard Blaire Langlois hit a three-pointer as the shot clock expired with 1:51 remaining to help Butler pull away from visiting Xavier for a 57-52 victory in a BIG EAST game at Hinkle Field house on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The win brings the Bulldogs to 13-14 on the season and 8-8 in conference.

The Butler women’s basketball team was defeated by the final score of 97-64 on Saturday night by the DePaul Blue Demons at McGrath-Phillips Arena. A full-court press from DePaul forced Butler into committing a season-high 25 turnovers which resulted in 32 points for the home team.

Hot-Shooting Bulldogs Defeat Visiting Georgetown
INDIANAPOLIS – Senior guard Mandy McDivitt connected on her fourth 3-pointer of the second half with 56 seconds remaining, bringing the Bulldog lead to six and securing a 67-59 victory over the visiting Georgetown Hoyas in a BIG EAST matchup at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Feb. 15. The victory brings to Bulldogs to 12-13 on the season and 7-7 in conference.

Butler Welcomes Georgetown to Hinkle Fieldhouse
The Bulldogs will look to get some revenge against Georgetown on Saturday in an effort to tie up the regular season series. The contest will serve as the annual Breast Cancer Awareness game for the Butler women’s basketball program. $2 from every adult ticket sold will benefit the 2014 St. Vincent Cancer Walk. Pink game jerseys will also be auctioned off in the coming weeks.

Tickets for the 2014 BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by New York Life are on sale now, as fans will have the opportunity to see a new champion crowned in a new city. The conference’s postseason championship will be held in Chicago for the first time in league history, with all-session, lower-level, center-court ticket booklets starting at just $75, which is just over $8 per game.
