Butler To Play Illinois State In WNIT
The Butler women’s basketball team is headed for postseason play for the second straight season. The Bulldogs, who finished second in both the Horizon League standings and league tournament, received the conference’s automatic bid and will travel to Illinois State for a game on Wednesday, March 17. ISU is 24-7 and finished first in the Missouri Valley this season.

In postseason for the second straight season, the Butler women’s basketball team will play in the WNIT at Illinois State Wednesday, March 17. The Bulldogs received the Horizon League’s automatic WNIT bid after the league got two teams in the NCAA Tournament. BU is 23-9 and finished second in the league standings and tournament. ISU is 24-7 and the Missouri Valley Conference regular season champion.

Butler’s NCAA Tournament dreams fell just short Sunday, as Bulldog women’s basketball fell to Cleveland State, 66-57, at Green Bay. Junior Alyssa Pittman had 18 points for Butler, who now awaits its postseason fate. Butler fell to 23-9 with the loss.

An NCAA Tournament berth is on the line Sunday as the Butler women’s basketball team takes on No. 4 seed Cleveland State Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The Bulldogs, now 23-8 and winners of 11 of 12, are coming off a 69-55 win over Detroit in the HL semifinal Friday night. Sunday’s championship game will be televised live on ESPNU. The Bulldogs and Vikings split two meetings this season.

The Bulldogs (22-8) advance to the tourney’s semifinals and will play No. 3 seed Detroit Friday evening.
