GREEN BAY, WIS. -- Sophomore Jenna Peters paced the 64-player field and led Butler to a tie for second place in the team competition at the Green Bay Invitational, which concluded at Green Bay Country Club on Tuesday (Sept. 11).  It was the first 2012-13 meet for the Bulldogs.

Peters entered the final round in a three-way tie for first place with Jenny Konop of team champ Indianapolis and Allie Parthie of Northern Illinois, which shared second place with the Bulldogs.  Each shot a one-over-par 73 in the opening round on Monday (Sept. 10).

The competition for medalist honors remained tight throughout the final round, but Peters emerged on top after shooting a three-over-par 76.  Konop shot a 77 and came in second one stroke back, while Parthie finished third with a 78 in the final round.

Peters led the 36-hole tournament with seven birdies, while teammate Isabella Lambert was second in the meet with five birdies.  Lambert tied for fourth overall with rounds of 76 and 77 (153).

Senior Julia Porter finished third for the Bulldogs and tied for 20th overall with back-to-back rounds of 82 (164).  Freshman Nicole Johnson tied for 51st place with an 86 in the opening round and 90 on the final day, while senior Ali Arends tied for 59th with rounds of 85 and 95.

Junior Ali Restaino, playing as a non-scoring individual, tied for 32nd in the competition with rounds of 83 and 86.

The Bulldogs shot a 316 as a team in the opening round and finished the first day of the tournament in sole possession of second place, 10 strokes behind Indianapolis.  Butler finished with a 325 and wound up tied with Northern Illinois with a 36-hole total of 641.

Butler's next fall action will be at the Wolverine Invitational, Sept. 22-23.
