Lambert Takes Third At Butler Fall Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Sophomore Isabella Lambert paced Butler and wound third in the overall individual standings at the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Country Club.  The Bulldogs finished sixth in the 11-team meet, which finished on Tuesday (Oct. 9).

Lambert followed an opening-round 73 with a final round 77 to finish with a two-day total of 150.  She trailed Yuri Otsuka of IUPUI by three strokes in the individual race.  Danielle Lemek of Bradley claimed medalist honors with a 36-hole score of four-over-par 144.

Senior Julia Porter and junior Ali Restaino tied for 33rd overall with final scores of 161.  Porter shot an 82 in the opening round, before coming back with a 79 on the final day.  Restaino carded a first round 83 and a second round 78.  Sophomore Jenna Peters tied for 37th place with an 86 in the first round and a team-best 76 (162) in the final round, while freshman Nicole Johnson tied for 55th place with rounds of 88 and 83 (171).  

Senior Ali Arends tied for 50th and led Butler's non-scoring individuals with rounds of 84 and 85 (169).  Freshman Amy Lundstram shot rounds of 97 and 90 (187) and placed 64th, while sophomore JoEllen Gentry finished 65th with rounds of 96 and 95 (191).

Bowling Green claimed the team crown with back-to-back rounds of 300 (600), 13 strokes better than runner-up Bradley (305-308 613).  IUPUI came in third at 617, followed by Indiana State (622), Eastern Illinois (629), Butler (634), Cleveland State (635), Evansville (637), Loyola (638), Valparaiso (664) and Green Bay (684).
