Bulldogs Edge Evansville In Dual Match

JASPER, IND. -- Sophomore Isabella Lambert pulled away from the field to capture medalist honors and help Butler edge Evansville, 316-322, in a dual match at Sultan's Run Golf Club on Monday (April 15).  The two Indiana squads squared off in a single, 18-hole competition.

Lambert grabbed the lead with and even-par 36 on the front nine of the 5,898-yard lay-out, and then she finished with a 37 on the back nine.  Her 18-hole score of one-over-par 73 was five strokes better than runner-up Cathy Doyle of Evansville.

Senior Ali Arends came in second for the Bulldogs and fourth overall with an 80, while sophomore Jenna Peters finished in a tie for fifth place with an 81.  Senior Julia Porter carded an 82 and finished in a tie for eighth place, while junior Ali Restaino came in tenth with an 83.

Freshman Nicole Johnson tied for 11th with an 84, and freshman Amy Lundstram came in 16th with a 98, playing as non-scoring individuals.

The two-team meet was Butler's final competition prior to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship, April 26-28.
