Bulldogs Close Fall Season At Evansville Tournament
BOONVILLE, IND. -- Junior Isabella Lambert placed among the "Top 10" individuals and helped lead Butler to an eighth place team finish at the Charles Braun, Jr. Intercollegiate, which wrapped up on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The 14-team tournament, hosted by Evansville, was Butler's final fall competition.
Lambert shot a four-over-par 75 on the Quail Crossing Golf Course layout in the opening round. She then carded a two-over-par 73 in the final round to finish with a 36-hole total of 148, good for a tie for eighth place in the individual competition.
Sophomore Nicole Johnson posted a team-best 73 in the first round and then finished with a 77 (150) to tie for 17 place. Junior Jenna Peters tied for 24th place with rounds of 79 and 73 (152), while freshman Megan McCambridge finished in a tie for 41st place with rounds of 81 and 74 (155). Senior Ali Restaino posted rounds of 81 and 84 (165) and finished in a tie for 66th place.
Sophomore Christine Cates, playing as a non-scoring individual, tied for 52nd place with rounds of 83 and 75 (158).
Loyola captured the team crown with a final score of 587, 18 strokes ahead of the Bulldogs. Logan Willis of Loyola, Miriam Parker of Lipscomb and Sarah Boss of Northern Iowa all tied for medalist honors with 36-hole scores of two-over-par 144.
Butler closed out a successful four-tournament fall schedule with the trip to southern Indiana. The Bulldogs won the Navy Chesapeake Invitational, finished runner-up at the Butler Fall Invitational and placed third at the Green Bay Invitational.
