Following a grueling 0-0 two-overtime draw against UT-Martin Sunday, the Butler women's soccer team will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on Big Ten opponent Michigan Friday at the U-M Soccer Stadium. The Bulldogs (3-2-1) have allowed just three goals on the season, the fewest of any A-10 team.

A key component of Butler's stalwart defense has been freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Hopkins. After recording a pair of shutouts last week, the Lake Oswego, Ore., native was named Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, the first A-10 honor for a Butler student-athlete.

The Wolverines (4-2-0) are coming off back-to-back losses on the road to Cal State Northridge and No. 11 Long Beach State. Led by junior forward Shelby Chambers-Garcia's three goals, Michigan is outscoring opponents 10-4 on the season.

The Bulldogs currently rank second in the A-10 in shots attempted (87), while sophomore forward Elise Kotsakis' six shots are third most in the conference.

Butler's match against Michigan will be the Bulldogs second contest against a Big Ten team this season. The Bulldogs beat Purdue on the road Aug. 29, marking their first win against a Big Ten opponent since 2008.

Three Butler players, all freshmen, are from the state of Michigan: Ellie Gabriel (Grandville, Mich.), Sophia Maccagnone (Shelby Township, Mich.) and Addison Schaar (Lansing, Mich.).
