ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Michigan's Corinne Harris scored twice within a span of 51 seconds and Big Ten foe Michigan defeated the Butler women's soccer team 3-0 on Friday night.

"Michigan is a quality side and in tonight's game they were dominant in just about every facet of the game," head coach Tari St. John said. "Playing opponents like this and in this kind of atmosphere will make us better and more prepared for the rest of the season. Losing never feels good but I believe we will be better for it."

Down 1-0 at halftime, Butler saw Harris lift a cross into the net at 49:52. At the 50:43 mark, Harris passed a through ball past BU keeper Mackenzie Hopkins to give UM a 3-0 lead.

Sophomore Elise Kotsakis and freshman Sophia Maccagnone each had two shots for Butler, which managed just seven tries. The Bulldogs entered the match second in the A-10 with 14.5 shots per game.

Meghan Toohey, who finished with three points on the night, scored UM's first goal at 10:23. Tori McCombs and Nkem Ezurike were credited with an assist.

Butler (3-3-1) returns home to host Eastern Illinois Friday, Sept. 14. The Bulldogs are 2-1-1 at home this season.
