After a week off, the Butler women's soccer team returns home to host Eastern Illinois Friday at the Butler Bowl before taking on in-state foe Ball State Sunday in Muncie, Ind.

The Bulldogs (3-3-1) have won their past two meetings with Eastern Illinois and will look to continue their solid defensive play in order to pick up another victory.

Butler ranks first in the A-10 in goals against (6) and shutouts (4). Freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Hopkins has recorded each of the Bulldogs' four shutouts.

Hopkins has allowed just four goals in 560 minutes at goal, placing her second in the conference with a goals-against average of 0.64. The Lake Oswego, Ore., native was tabbed A-10 Women's Soccer Rookie of the Month for the week of Sept. 3-9.

On the offensive side, sophomore forward Elise Kotsakis leads the team with 24 shots, tying her for fourth among A-10 players. Freshman midfielder Sophia Maccagnone ranks eighth in the A-10 with 22 shot attempts. The Shelby Township, Mich., native's two game-winning goals is most in the conference.

The Panthers (2-5) have allowed 14 goals on the season, while scoring seven. Senior forward Kristin Germann leads Eastern Illinois with three goals.

The match-up will be the Panthers' first contest in a five-match road trip, spanning from Sept. 14 to Sept. 30.

After facing Eastern Illinois Friday, the Bulldogs will travel north to Muncie to take on the Ball State Cardinals (3-2-2).

It will be the first meeting between the teams since Sept. 2, 2007 when Butler picked up a 2-1 road win over the Cardinals.
