INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The 2013 women's soccer home opener is set for Wednesday night as the Bulldogs host Northern Kentucky at the Butler Bowl at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs are 1-1 entering Wednesday's match after splitting a pair of games during opening weekend. The 2013 season opener was played at Louisville this year with the Cardinals taking a 2-0 win over Butler on Friday, Aug. 23. The Bulldogs evened their record with a 3-0 victory over Indiana State on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Goalkeeper Julie Burton earned her ninth career shutout in the win over Indiana State, a mark that now places her in a tie for fourth all-time on the career school record list. Burton and the Butler defense were clicking on all cylinders against the Sycamores giving the offense plenty of scoring opportunities.

The first goal of the season was scored by Elise Kotsakis as she found the back of the net just seconds before the end of the first half. Caroline Kowal pushed the lead to 2-0 and newcomer Kathryn Voelker rounded out the goal scoring with a chip shot from five yards out.
