Ric Huffman will enter his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Butler women's soccer team in 2014. A college and youth soccer coaching veteran in the Central Indiana area, Huffman started as an assistant in 2009.

The 2013 season was a new challenge for Huffman and the rest of the coaching staff as the Bulldogs jumped into the BIG EAST Conference. Butler ended the year as the fifth seed in the conference tournament while having three players earn All-BIG EAST accolades near the end of the season.

Huffman helped the Bulldogs enjoyed one of their finest seasons in 2012. Butler was the top defensive team in the Atlantic 10 Conference, helping the Bulldogs to a 12-5-4 record. The team that season set school records for fewest goals allowed and fewest losses.

In his second year at Butler, he helped the Bulldogs capture a conference regular season title. The 2010 Bulldogs, claimed a share of the regular season league title with Milwaukee and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.

A native of Bloomington, Ind., Huffman brings with him collegiate and professional playing experience as a former member of the Indiana University men's soccer team and the Indiana Twisters of the Continental Indoor Soccer League. He also played on the 1998 National Indoor Championship team with former Butler greats Scott Lawler, Steve Weiger, Scott Weiger, Casey Sweeney and Craig Koller.

A 1993 graduate of Indiana University, Huffman is married to Collette Huffman and has three children: James, Ryker and Sarah.
