Jenny Esparza Earns All-Region Honors
Sophomore Jenny Esparza, who helped Butler to 32 victories and a runner-up finish in the Horizon League, has been named to the 2011 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Midwest Region Team. She was the lone Butler athlete and one of three league players named to the honor squad.

Sophomore Jenny Esparza, who’s become Butler’s all-time strikeouts leader in just two seasons, has been named the 2011 Horizon League Pitcher of the Year. She was one of four Butler players named to the All-League Team, released by the league office on Tuesday (May 10).

Butler, coming off a school-record 36-19 campaign, finished in a tie for third in the annual preseason poll of Horizon League softball coaches. The Bulldogs received 43 points in the poll to tie with Wright State, behind preseason favorite Cleveland State and UIC.

Scott Hall Named Softball Coach At Butler
Scott Hall, one of the most successful high school coaches in Indiana, has been named head softball coach at Butler University. He assumes the top position with the Bulldogs after spending the past ten seasons as head softball coach at Pendleton Heights High School.
