Hello everyone! I had an extremely exciting week with the opening of Horizon League matches! It was so awesome to start the second part of the season with conference play and VERY GREAT to play at home! I had a full week of school, which was weird but refreshing. I had exams in most of my classes - which was a little stressful - but because I'm required to log study table hours for athletes, that is where I get most of my homework and studying done.

We had Sunday and Monday off which was great because I was able to catch up with the girls in my unit. We all went out to dinner Sunday night in Broad Ripple because it was my friend's birthday. Then, I used Monday to catch up my sleep! On Tuesday and Wednesday we practiced to get ready for our conference games vs. Cleveland State University and Wright State University.

Coach Clark gave us Thursday off to rest and come physically prepared for Friday. We all used the rest time to our advantage to log more hours of sleep and relaxation. So needless to say, all of our rest definitely factored into our huge wins this weekend!

We went 2-0! We had a long five-set match vs. CSU but pulled it out. It was one of the most physical matches I've ever played in and an awesome opener at home. It was exciting to see my parents and all my teammates' parents at the game and be able to visit with them afterwards. We left Hinkle at 10:30 so I went to right to bed Friday night. It was refreshing to sleep in Saturday morning but, we had a busy afternoon with WSU. We were more than fired up to play them because we're working to be #1 in our conference, which gave us motivation to sweep them! Overall, it was a very successful weekend and a relaxing Sunday.

A few more exams this week and more studying to do of course, but it's Homecoming week so there are a million events to attend! We play at Valparaiso on Friday night and Alabama A&M at home on Saturday night. So it's another busy week ahead of me!
