Volleyball's Locks Of Love A Success

The Butler volleyball team's Locks of Love event on Friday (Sept. 24) was a success. Seventeen people donated a total of 140 inches of hair for wigs for children battling cancer, and the team also collected cash donations.

"The Butler volleyball program would like to thank Supercuts as well as Kenra for sponsoring this event," head coach Sharon Clark said. "We also would like to thank all of our hard-working volunteers who made it a success."

Overall, one person (Buzz Bodell) gave 15 inches, while three others gave 12 and seven people gave 10.

Four Bulldog players took part in the event, just moments after the team's win against Wright State. Freshman Maureen Nesbit donated 12 inches of hair, while seniors Susan Lester, Katie Daprile and Jessica Wolfe gave 10 inches, 8.5 inches and 5 inches, respectively. BU volleyball staffers Dawn Jones (12 inches) and Nina Inic (10) also donated.
