Becky Olson, a former player for head coach Sharon Clark while at UC-Davis, begins her second season with the Bulldogs as an assistant coach.
A native of Sebastopol, Calif., Olson was a four-year letterwinner as an outside hitter with the Aggies from 1998-2001, playing her first two seasons under Clark.
As a senior, Olson led the team with 306 total digs and 2.95 kills per game, ranking fourth and 12th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association respectively, to earn a spot on the All-CCAA Second Team.
The team's MVP in 2001, she finished her career as one the program's all-time leaders in digs.
Olson graduated from UC-Davis with a Bachelor's Degree in human development with a minor in communications. Since then, she attended Dominican University to attain her teaching credential and has taught sixth and seventh grade at a junior high school in her hometown.
She has also spent time coaching at Analy High School in Sebastopol and with Empire Volleyball Club, her former high school club squad.
In addition to her coaching duties at Butler, Olson will be working toward earning her Masters of Science in Education in the College of Education's Masters in Effective Teaching and Leadership Program (METL).
