The Bulldogs fell to No. 7 Washington in the first round of the Comfort Inn and Suites Invitational at Northern Illinois University Friday night. Senior Areal Bienemy led the Bulldogs (0-2) with 10 kills in the 30-22, 30-20, 30-20 loss. Butler turns around and plays host Northern Illinois Saturday. "It was a great match between two talented teams," said assistant coach Karen Weatherington. "Our hitting errors really hurt us. There was a lot of energy out there and we were excited about what we saw. We're eager to watch us grow and develop, playing another good team in NIU tomorrow night." Junior libero Megan Knightly led the Bulldogs with 13 digs, while senior setter Sara Gallagher had 20 assists. For the Huskies, Sanja Tomasevic had a match-high 18 kills. The Bulldogs return to action Saturday against Northern Illinois. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
