Senior Rob Mullett made Butler history and
earned NCAA qualification with a sub-four minute mile run at the
Husky Classic, hosted by the University of Washington on Friday and
Saturday (Feb. 12-13). Mullett's performance
highlighted a weekend of track action for Butler athletes.
Mullett placed second in Section 2 of the men's mile
invitational in 3:59.37, becoming the first athlete in Butler
history to record a sub-four minute mile. He broke the school

NCAA Division I qualifying standard in the mile.

invitational. Macdonald, running in one of the best fields in
NCAA history, placed 16th in Section 3 of the race in a personal
best 7:57 to top the NCAA standard.
The two NCAA qualifiers topped a field of nine Butler athletes
competing in Seattle. Freshman Kirsty Legg placed fifth in
Section 2 of the women's mile invitational in 4:50.39, while
freshmen Lauren McKillop (9:38.58) and Katie Clark (9:40.51) both
placed in the “Top 10” of Section 2 of the
