MASON, OHIO
- The Butler men's
tennis team saw its season come to a close Friday morning at the
hands at VCU 4-0 at the quarterfinal of the Atlantic 10 Men's
Tennis Championship in Mason, Ohio.
The Bulldogs faced the No. 1 seed Rams after Thursday's
tourney-opening win over Saint Joseph's.
The pairing of Tommy Marx and Sam O'Neill
lost to the VCU pairing of Alejandro Argente and Jaime Vazquez 8-4
at No. 3 doubles.
Sophomore Austin Woldmoe
suffered defeat at No. 1 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-0. Sam
O'Neill and Billy Weldon each won four games before falling.
O'Neill fell 6-3, 6-1 to Alejandro Argente and VCU's Jaime Vazquez
beat Weldon 6-2, 6-2.
First-year head coach Parker Ross finished his first season at
the helm of the Bulldogs with a 10-13 record.
