INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's basketball team fell to DePaul on Saturday afternoon by the final score of 85-64. The Bulldogs outscored the Blue Demons in the final 20 minutes 36-30, but a 27 point halftime deficit was too much to overcome.

DePaul came out in a full court man-to-man press that jumpstarted their momentum. The pressure caused 13 first half turnovers for Butler, which resulted in DePaul scoring 25 points off those miscues.

Each team shot the ball very well on Saturday, but the hot 3-point shooting from DePaul would hurt Butler as the team hit nine of their first 10 3-point field goals.

The Bulldogs battled the hot shooting Blue Demons to hit 54 percent from the floor in the opening half and 45 percent for the game (23-51), but DePaul shot 60 percent from the floor in the first half, including 66 percent from 3-point range (10-15).

Butler had three players reach a double figure score total with Lexus Murry, Haley Howard and Daress McClung all ending the game with 12 points. It was McClung's first time on the court since Jan. 4 as she has been sidelined with a foot injury. The senior came off the bench in today's game shooting 4-of-7 which included one three point field goal.

Murry tied her career-high as she has poured in 12 points in back-to-back games. The sophomore guard shot 6-for-10 and also added three assists.

Five Blue Demons scored in double figures against Butler with Megan Rogowski leading all players with a game-high 16 points. Brandi Harvey-Carr posted 13 points and seven rebounds, while the Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year, Brittany Hrynko filled up the box score with 12 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

McDivitt limited Hrynko's touches in the first half, but two quick fouls sent her to the bench which allowed Hrynko to see some open looks. McDivitt would return to the game and hit three 3-point field goals for Butler to end the game with nine points.

The Bulldogs will end the month of January with a 7 p.m. tip vs. Providence on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
