Butler Finishes Third At Racer Classic

MURRAY, KY. -  Junior Isabella Lambert notched a "Top 5" individual finish and Butler placed third in the team standings at the Time Warner Racer Classic, which wrapped up at the Miller Memorial Golf Course on Saturday, March 1.  Host Murray State won the 36-hole tournament, while Southern Illinois placed runner-up.

Lambert shot a two-over-par 74 in the opening round and then finished with a 76 in the final round for a 36-hole total of 150.  She finished fifth overall, four strokes behind co-medalists Delaney Howson of Murray State and Brianna Scheidler of Indianapolis.

Freshman Megan McCambridge wound up placing 12 with a two-round score of 157 (80-77), while senior Ali Restaino and junior Jenna Peters tied for 13th one stroke back.  Restaino shot rounds of 78 and 80, while Peters carded back-to-back rounds of 79.  Sophomore Nicole Johnson rounded out Butler's five-player scoring unit with a 36-hole score of 169 (85-84) and a tie for 30th place.

Sophomore Christine Cates, playing as a non-scoring individual, shot rounds of 81 and 82 (163) and placed 24th.

Murray State had a team score of 600, while Southern Illinois shot 615.  Butler was eight strokes back at 123, followed by Lipscomb (652), IPFW (654) and Tennessee State (677).  The tournament, originally scheduled for March 3-4, was moved up two days because of weather concerns.
