Women's Tennis Takes 5-2 Setback vs. Ball State

INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs were defeated by Ball State on Tuesday afternoon after the Cardinals picked up five wins during singles competition. Butler narrowly won the doubles point, but they couldn't get over the hump as Jocelyn Koester was the only player to record a win at singles.

Koester was the impact player in the BU lineup Tuesday as she and Konstantina Adami picked up a 9-7 win at No. 3 Doubles for the Bulldogs. The doubles point came down to the wire as the Cardinals evened the match with an 8-4 win at No. 1 Doubles. Grace Hyde and Angelina Qin made the final push for Butler as the team won the point 8-7 (8).

Singles competition did not go as well for Butler as the Cardinals won No. 1-5. Stephanie McLoughlin took her match to three sets, but was ultimately defeated 4-6, 6-0, 6-1. Qin also put up a good fight at No. 5 singles losing 6-3, 6-4.
