Women's Tennis Falls 6-1 at UIC

GRIFFITH, Ind. – The Bulldogs took a 6-1 setback at UIC on Saturday at the Match Point Tennis Center. Angelina Qin earned the team's lone point with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 Singles.

Doubles competition was close between the two programs as the Flames earned the point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Jocelyn Koester and Konstantina Adami picked up a win for BU at No. 3 doubles by defeating Natalia Kuvakina and Veronica Lacerda 8-5. The No. 1 doubles match was the critical turning point as the Flames grabbed the first point of the day with an 8-7 win over Stephanie McLoughlin and Kailey Eaton.

UIC (4-9) won five of the six single matches. Koester pushed her opponent to a third set at No. 6 singles, but was ultimately defeated 6-7, 6-1, 10-5.

McLoughlin was defeated 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 and Adami was knocked off 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2. The middle of the lineup featured Hyde losing 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 and Eaton falling 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
