Vikings Edge Bulldogs 4-3

INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State edged Butler in the 2015 men's tennis season opener 4-3. The Bulldogs earned the doubles point, but the Vikings were able to record the win with four wins at the top of the singles lineup.

The doubles team of Sam O'Neill and Billy Weldon put BU in the driver's seat as the No. 2 team picked up the first win of the afternoon 6-3. The point went to the Bulldogs with a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles as Brandon Woods and Pulok Bhattacharya defeated Shabib and Buffington.

O'Neill and Weldon also led Butler in singles action, picking up a pair of wins at the bottom of the order. O'Neill won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 5 and Weldon was victorious 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6.
