INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs took a 3-0 loss at Xavier on Saturday afternoon (25-20, 25-13, 26-24). With the setback, Butler moves to 7-16 overall with a 3-7 record against conference opponents.

Anna Logan led Butler with nine kills and eight digs. The offense was set up by Makayla Ferguson and Meghan Cotant who split the setter role. Each player ended the match with eight assists.

Ferguson also provided Butler with seven digs and a service ace. The team leader in digs was sophomore Aki Aitsebaomo with 11.

Butler won the team blocks category 8-5. Leading the charge was freshman Briana Lilly with seven. Logan was also an impact player at the net by adding five.

The Musketeers were led by outside hitter Abbey Bessler who came up with 19 kills and nine digs. Mackenzie Humm added 22 assists and Meredith Klare was in the box score with 12 digs.

Butler will return to action next weekend with a pair of road matches. The 'Dawgs will play at Providence on Oct. 30 and end the weekend with a game at St. John's. Each contest will begin at 6 PM.
