Paced by a third-place finish from senior All-American Peterson, the Butler men took fourth overall in the men's standings. Peterson covered the 8K course in 22:50.2.
"(Peterson) went against the very best in the country, and held his own," head coach
Matt Roe said. Though the course was a bit short of 8K, Roe said, Peterson's time is the fastest recorded in Butler history.
"It's hard to ask more from him," Roe said.
Sophomores Johnson and
Billy Thomas were 20th and 22nd overall, clocking 24:17.2 and 24:23.6, respectively.
"I am really pleased with how the men ran," Roe said. "They did a nice job executing the plan. It was a true team effort."
Underclassman
Johnny Leverenz clocked 24:27.7 for 24th, and freshman
Eric Baugh finished in 35th with a time of 24:57.2 to round out the scorers.
Senior

In the women's 6K, Butler finished fifth overall, led by senior Pratt. Pratt took 12th with a time of 20:11.0.
"Like a few others, she missed some time this summer," Roe said of Pratt. "But she hasn't let that get her down, and she's gotten better every week.
"She is rounding into form, and that is exciting."
Newcomer Turner was steps behind Pratt, taking 13th in 20:13.3. Junior
Colleen Weatherford took 30th overall for the Bulldogs with a time of 20:53.1. Classmate Maddie Westerhoff clocked 20:53.1 for 37th, followed by first-year

"We are making good progress from where we started," Roe said of the women's team. "I commend Maddie and Meredith for stepping in and stepping up for us today."

Butler's next meet will be the Great Lakes Regional at the Thomas Zimmer Course in Verona, Wisc. on November 13.
