INDIANAPOLIS – Butler ended the 2015 regular season on a high note by defeating DePaul by the final score of 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19). With the victory, Butler moved to 12-19 overall with an 8-10 mark against BIG EAST competition.

Seniors Mary Striedl and Natalie Meert impacted the match at a high level on Saturday with Striedl providing the offense with 18 kills and Meert helping the defense with 17 digs. Striedl wrapped up her career with 18 kills off 44 swings to post a .295 attack percentage. She was in the box score with a double-double by adding 16 digs.

A total of five Bulldogs ended the match with a double figure dig total. Striedl and Meert were joined by Kodi Smith, Anna Logan and Makayla Ferguson. Logan was the player of the game with a match-high 19 digs to go along with a match-high 20 digs. Smith matched Meert's effort with 17 digs and Ferguson was yet another Bulldog with a double-double by posting 52 assists and 10 digs.

The block category went to Butler with the Bulldogs posting eight team blocks compared to just four from the Blue Demons. Tyler Taylor was the team leader with six, while three other 'Dawgs picked up two.

The Blue Demons were led by Jasmine King and Colleen Smith in a losing effort. King posted a team-high 15 digs while Smith was a double-double player with 48 assists and 10 digs.

The Bulldogs won each of the first two sets to gain momentum, but the Blue Demons avoided the sweep with an extra point win in the third. There were 17 ties and six lead changes in the third set pushing the nights total to 33 ties and 14 lead changes.

Logan and Striedl took 86 of Butler's 167 attempts to bolster the BU attack. Head Coach Sharon Clark also got an outstanding effort out of Jessica Klingensmith who came up with 14 kills on the night and a team-best .393 attack percentage.
