Box Score Seton Hall took a four-set decision from Butler Sunday afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs took set one before the Pirates rebounded to take the last three sets and the 21-25, 27-25, 25-20, 25-18 win. Mary Striedl led the Bulldogs with 22 kills and 16 digs in the loss. Seton Hall improves to 12-15 overall and 6-9 in BIG EAST play. Butler now stands at 10-17 (6-8 BIG EAST).
Freshman Anna Logan had 17 kills and eight digs in another strong showing for Butler. She and Striedl combined for 39 of Butler's 53 kills on the afternoon. Briana Lilly added six kills, six digs and was part of four blocks. Makayla Ferguson had 43 assists and 12 digs.
Seton Hall was led by Danielle Schroeder with 20 kills.
Butler hit .250 in taking the opening set 25-21. Seton Hall rebounded in a tightly-contested second set to take the final two points of the set for a 27-25 mark. The Pirates only had seven attack errors over the last two sets to take the match.
The loss ended a three-match winning streak for the Bulldogs, who entered the match as winners of five of their last six.
The Bulldogs head out for their last weekend of travel during the BIG EAST season, facing Georgetown Friday before meeting Creighton in Omaha, Neb., on Sunday.
