INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's tennis team defeated Dayton on Valentine's Day 5-2. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 3-7 on the year.

Butler earned the doubles point at the start of the day and finished off the Flyers by winning all three matchups at the top of the lineup. Kylie Haviland, Bailey Padgett and Kailey Eaton were all victorious in straight-sets at the top of the order and Michelle McFerran added to the victory with her win at No. 6.

Haviland made quick work of her opponent at No. 1 singles, taking a 6-3, 6-0 win. Padgett was next in line with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 and Eaton completed the sweep at the top with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3. Dayton came up with wins at No. 4 and 5, but McFerran gave Butler the 5-2 victory with a 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 6 spot.

The doubles point went to Butler with wins at No. 2 and 3. Rachel Sutton and Padgett won easily with a 6-0 sweep at No. 2 and the team of Angelina Qin and McFerran defeated Kawamoto and Townsend 7-5 at No. 3.
