INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler men's tennis team will travel to Toledo to face the Rockets on Friday afternoon and end the weekend with a home match vs. The Citadel on Sunday. Friday's action will begin at 3:00 p.m. while Sunday's tilt will get underway at 10 a.m.
The Bulldogs are off to a 1-3 start to the indoor season. They took a tough 4-3 loss in the season opener to Cleveland State, but rebounded nicely with a win over Dayton the following day.
The team enters the weekend on a two-match skid having lost to nationally-ranked Ohio State on the road 7-0 and most recently taking a 4-3 loss to conference foe DePaul.
The next challenge for the Bulldogs will be a road match at Toledo against the 1-4 Rockets. Toledo recorded a 4-3 win at Detroit in the season opener, but the team has now lost four-straight. Losses on the year have been to Valparaiso, Ohio State, Xavier and most recently Michigan State.
Sunday will be a battle of the Bulldogs as The Citadel visits Indy for an 10 a.m. match. The Citadel is 1-6 overall with all six losses coming 7-0. Their lone win on the year was a 7-0 victory against Spartanburg Methodist.
