Three Events in Three Days for BU Women's Tennis

INDIANAPOLIS -- The women's tennis team will play two road matches this week followed by a home match vs. Illinois State. The first match will be played at UIndy on Friday, Feb. 6. The following day, the Bulldogs will travel to Bloomington to play the Hoosiers at 4 p.m. The final match of the weekend will take place at the Butler Bubble with the Bulldogs hosting Illinois State at 3 p.m.

The Bulldogs faced UIndy in the fall when they hosted the Butler Invitational. Eaton and Haviland won the Flight A Doubles 8-3 against the Greyhounds. The Bulldogs also beat the Greyhounds 4-3 last year at home. The Greyhounds are coming off a loss against IUPUI in the season opener, making Butler their second non-conference match of the year.

The Indiana Hoosiers are currently undefeated after five matches. Each victory has been lopsided with IU taking down Miami OH, Western Michigan, and Eastern Illinois at home. Road wins have been recorded against Cincinnati and Xavier. The Hoosiers will be busy in Bloomington on Saturday as the team hosts DePaul at 11 a.m. before taking on Butler at 4 p.m.

Illinois State is off to a 0-2 start to the indoor season after suffering setbacks to Illinois and IPFW. The Redbirds will host Eastern Illinois on Saturday before traveling to Indianapolis on Sunday.

The Bulldogs will look to improve on their 1-5 overall record with three matches this weekend. The team has lost two straight with setbacks to Cincinnati and Akron. Their lone win of the year was a 5-2 victory at home vs. South Dakota State.
