INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's tennis team will close the regular season by hosting a pair of matches against BIG EAST opponents. Friday will feature BU hosting Creighton at 1 p.m. Sunday's contest will pit Butler against Xavier at 10 a.m. Each event will be played at the BU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The Bulldogs have hit their stride during the final stages of the 2015 season by winning three of their last five matches. The team will look to improve on their 1-2 conference mark that includes an overall record of 7-15.
The top singles player on the roster this season has been Bailey Padgett, a talented freshman from Carmel that is in the midst of a three-match winning streak. Padgett picked up two single wins last weekend defeating her opponent against both DePaul and Providence. She is 10-12 overall, posting a 6-6 record at No. 2 and a 4-6 record at No. 1.
Padgett teams with Kailey Eaton in doubles competition where the duo currently holds onto a 6-7 record at No. 2. Representing BU at No. 1 will be Kylie Haviland and Konstantina Adami who post a record of 3-10. The third spot will be up in the air with Angelina Qin, Rachel Sutton, and Michelle McFerran all up for the challenge.
Sunday will be Senior Day for Qin. The Brentwood Tennessee major heads into the weekend with 23 career wins in singles competition and 28 career wins when playing doubles.
