Butler's women's cross country team heads to Terre Haute, Ind., Friday for the Indiana Intercollegiate Meet. The 2015 race is hosted by Indiana State University as part of the location rotation between ISU, Indiana and Purdue.
The meet - held at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, a long-standing host of the NCAA National Cross Country Championships - brings together 27 of Indiana's college cross country teams, spanning all three NCAA divisions, NAIA and junior colleges. Last year's attendees included runners from nearly all of the major Indiana schools, as well as smaller institutions such as Rose-Hulman, Grace College, Huntington and Anderson.
The meet kicks off with the Open Women's 5K at 3:15 p.m., followed by the Open Men's 8K at 4 p.m. The Women's Championship 5K is set to begin at 4:45 p.m. with the Men's Championship 8K scheduled for 5:30.
