EAST LANSING, Mich. – Butler jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Saturday afternoon, but the Hokies would rebound to secure a 3-1 victory at Jenison Field House (25-18, 24-26, 17-25, 19-25). The loss moves Butler's overall record to 1-5 while Virginia Tech improves to 6-0.

Anna Logan led Butler with 10 kills while Makayla Ferguson set up the offense with a team-high 17 assists. Meghan Cotant added 12 assists which helped Mary Striedl record eight kills, but that effort was not enough as the Hokies remain undefeated during the 2015 campaign.

Virginia Tech got a pair of double-double performances from Lindsey Owens and Amanda McKinzie. Owens went for 14 kills and 15 digs while McKinzie tallied a team-high 15 kills to match 14 digs.

The Hokies never led in the first set as Butler grabbed a 25-18 win to grab the momentum. Set two favored Virginia Tech as Butler faced a 7-2 deficit early in the action. The Bulldogs came all the way back to tie the set at 22-22, but an attack error would regain the lead for Virginia Tech.

Butler burned a timeout facing the 23-22 deficit but a kill from Ferguson would knot the score once again at 23-23. Butler got to set point off a second kill from Ferguson, but the Hokies would stay alive with a point from Amanda McKinzie.

Two-straight points from Virginia Tech would give the Hokies confidence as Lindsey Owens and McKinzie won the set off back-to-back kills.

The third set belonged to VT with the Hokies opening up a 21-9 advantage. BU would drop to 2-1 with the setback and the fourth and final set was more of the same for Virginia Tech as they opened up a 17-7 lead. Butler got within six points at 15-21 but the match was never in question with the Hokies hanging on for the win.
