MUNCIE, Ind. – The Butler women's tennis team took a 7-0 loss to Ball State on Friday afternoon. The indoor match took place at the local YMCA.
BSU earned the first point of the day by winning all three double matches. Grace Hyde and Rachel Sutton were defeated 6-4 at No. 3 while the team of Bailey Padgett and Jocelyn Koester took a 6-3 loss at No. 1. The No. 2 team of Konstantina Adami and Kailey Eaton rounded out the action with a 6-0 loss.
Five of the six single matches went down in straight-sets. Butler's chance at stealing a point came at No. 3 doubles where Rachel Sutton pushed Peyton Gollhofer to a tiebreaker. Gollhofer won the first set 6-4, but was upended 6-3 by Sutton in the second. The tiebreaker gave Ball State the clean 7-0 sweep (10-4).
