INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler men's tennis team defeated Rose-Hulman on Sunday afternoon by the final score of 7-0. With the win, Butler improved to 5-8 during the regular season.
The doubles point belonged to the Bulldogs as Butler won all three matches. Mikheil Khmiadashvili and Mason Dragos recorded a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles while Spencer Lang and Temilope Adelakun paired up to win by the same score at No. 3. Also picking up a win in doubles action was the team of Ari Gerstein and Alex Woldmoe who won 6-0 at No. 2.
Singles action featured a strong BU showing at the top of the lineup and a few tiebreakers to keep the sweep going at No. 4 and No. 5.
Dragos won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 and Khmiadashvili retired his opponent 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Gerstein was also a straight-set winner at No. 3 defeating his opponent 6-2, 6-2.
No. 4 singles was much closer as Spencer Lang came out on top 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-2) and Woldmoe held off Matt Conrad at No. 5 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5).
Also in action for BU at No. 6 singles was Adelakun who recorded a 6-3, 6-0 win against Andrew Schiffman.
