MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State Cardinals came up with a 5-2 home win vs Butler on Saturday afternoon. Spencer Lang and Adrian Mag came up with Butler victories at the end of the lineup.
Lang posted a 6-7, 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 5 against Marko Guzina while Mag earned a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win vs. Jan Jirus at No. 6 singles.
The match could have gone either way as three of the four other single matchups went three sets. Mikheil Khmiadashvili was narrowly defeated 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 at No. 1 while Dragos took a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 setback at No. 2.
Woldmoe was defeated 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 and Gerstein was downed 7-5, 6-3 by Nemanja Guzina at No. 4.
The doubles point went to the home team as Ball State picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 3. BU was leadng 5-2 at No. 2, but the match ended unfinished. Gerstein and Woldmoe were paired up at No. 2, Khmiadashvili and Dragos took the top spot and the team of Lang and Mag represented BU at No. 3.
