Rain Forces @ButlerSoftball and St. John's to Suspend Saturday's Contest

QUEENS, N.Y. (April 9, 2016)  – Tied at 2-2 after three innings, steady rain flow forced St. John's softball to suspend its game with Butler. The two squads will pick up the game and resume it in the fourth inning beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday before playing a single game immediately after the first contest.

The Johnnies (18-16, 2-4 BIG EAST) struck first with two runs in the second. After a leadoff walk by Krystal Puga, freshman Christina Melendez hit her fourth home run of the season.
 

Butler (21-14, 4-2 BIG EAST) evened the score in the third off a two-run single to the left side by Kaitlin Doud.
