INDIANAPOLIS – Butler's first game after a week off for final exams will be played on Monday night against Loyola. The Bulldogs are 2-0 during the month of December and a perfect 3-0 when playing inside Hinkle Fieldhouse. This is the first meeting between Butler and Loyola since 2011-12 when each program played in the Horizon League.

Scouting Loyola
Loyola is 1-8 on the year with their lone victory coming at Chicago State (46-28). Butler will be the third BIG EAST opponent to appear on Loyola's schedule, joining Marquette and DePaul. The Golden Eagles defeated Loyola 92-30 while DePaul cruised to an 88-47 win. The Ramblers are only scoring 48 points per game as a team. Jessica Cerda averages 10 points per contest while Kailyn Strawbridge and Abby O'Connor each average eight. O'Connor doubles as the top rebounder (5.1) on the team while Strawbridge leads the club in assists (21). Head Coach Kate Achter is in her second season with the program. She has BIG EAST ties as an assistant coach with Xavier during the 2015-16 season.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
In Butler's lone game of the week, Schickel posted a double-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and a block in a win over Wisconsin. She led BU in all four categories.
Six Wins is Significant
Butler recorded their sixth win of the season with a 69-62 win over Wisconsin. The victory was the first for Butler over a Big Ten opponent since 2012-13. They also matched their win total from the 2016-17 season before the start of BIG EAST conference play.
RPI Rankings
Nine out of 10 BIG EAST teams landed in the top 100 of the first NCAA RPI poll last week. Villanova comes in at No. 4 this week while St. John's moves to No. 12. Butler (39), Marquette (55), Creighton (67), and Seton Hall (69) all remain in the top 100 while DePaul (125), Xavier (127), and Providence (142) all dropped out.
Own the Glass
Tori Schickel has led the team in rebounding in 42-straight games. She broke the Butler school record for most rebounds recorded in a single-season last year with 364. She currently leads the BIG EAST and ranks 12th in the NCAA in total rebounds (112).
Ball Control
Butler only committed nine turnovers in the win over Wisconsin, a new-season low total. The Bulldogs also dished out 15 assists on 25 made field goals. 15 assists are the third-highest total for BU this season. The team notched 18 assists against both Murray State and Virginia Tech, but they turned the ball over 20+ times in each victory.
Move Your Feet
Butler was only whistled for six fouls in the win over Wisconsin. Their second-lowest foul total came in the previous game vs. Northern Illinois (15).
All-Time Series
Butler and Loyola have not met on the hardwood since 2011-12 when each program was a member of the Horizon League. Butler has won the last eight meetings. Loyola's last win over BU was recorded in 2007-08.

Tori Schickel and
Whitney Jennings have accounted for 50 percent of Butler's scoring over the first ten games of the season. Jennings ranks second in the BIG EAST with an 18.5 scoring average. Schickel ranks sixth in the league by averaging 16.5 points per contest.
Double-Double Counter
Tori Schickel is one of just two (Cynthia Petke, Georgetown) BIG EAST players to record six double-doubles this season, a total that ranks 11th in the NCAA.
All-Time Great
Tori Schickel has 669 rebounds in her Butler career. She currently ranks ninth all-time at Butler in career rebounds and is now just 15 rebounds away from eighth place. Schickel is on pace to become the top rebounder in Butler women's basketball history.

Sydney Buck has hit 172 3-point field goals during her Butler career, a total that ranks her fourth all-time. The senior is now six three-point field goals away from third place all-time. That spot is currently held by Blaire Langlois (177), Buck's teammate from 2014-16.
Weaver With The Steal
Michelle Weaver has recorded a steal in seven-straight games. She's one of four players on the roster to have 10 or more steals on the season, joining Jennings (20), Schickel (19), and Spolyar (14). Weaver recorded a season-high five steals against #11 West Virginia.
