VENICE – The last stop on the 2019 Tour of Italy took the Bulldogs to Venice. The travel party left the bus and took a water taxi into the city. The first night would include a team dinner with great conversation as the student-athletes interviewed their roommates about various topics and shared their findings with the rest of the group.
Friday morning began with a gondola ride through the Venice Canals and ended with a late 9 PM local tip against the Venice All-Stars. The 'Dawgs won the contest in convincing fashion 90-48. Final statistics included 19 points, five rebounds and four assists from
Upe Atosu, 15 points, three rebounds and four assists by
Genesis Parker and 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists from guard
N'Dea Flye.
Other Bulldogs to reach a double figure scoring total included
Emilia Sexton with 11 and
Tenley Dowell with 10.
Today is the final day to view the city. A guided tour took the team through the streets of Venice and a team dinner later tonight will signal the end of the trip. The 'Dawgs will take a boat to the airport early tomorrow morning and arrive back in Indianapolis Monday night.
