Men's Results
The Butler men's cross country team took fourth out of 18 teams at the Panorama Farms Invitational on Friday, September 27. All of Butler's scorers placed in the top-50 out of 161 runners.
Euan Makepeace paced the Bulldogs, taking eighth overall with a time of 24:18.0.
Simon Bedard was the next Bulldog across the line, clocking a 24:50.4 for 27th in his first race in a Butler uniform.
Clark Otte finished a few seconds behind Bedard (24:53.4) for 30th overall.
Jackson Martin (24:58.6) and
Eric Baugh (25:19.4) rounded out the Bulldogs scorers.
Evan Johnson (26:02.6) and
James Sweeney (26:06.1) were the Bulldog's sixth and seventh finishers, respectively.
Host Virginia claimed the team title with 35 points. Michigan State came in second (82) followed by Charlotte (109). The Bulldogs finished with 138 points, edging out fifth-place Yale (143).
Next Up:
The men's team will have a few weeks to train for the NCAA Pre-Nationals, hosted by Indiana State University on October 19. The women's team will use this week to prep for the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame on October 4, and then compete in the NCAA Pre-Nationals, as well.
