INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler women's basketball team fell to 0-2 on the year after taking an 88-41 loss to Creighton on Sunday afternoon.
Upe Atosu led Butler with 11 points.
Atosu was the only Bulldog to reach double figures in the scoring column, but the Bluejays had five players reach the feat. Creighton was led by Morgan Maly and her game-high 16 points off the bench. CU won the opening frame 27-6 and would end the game with 15 made 3-pointers to pull out the lopsided victory.
Butler turned the ball over 29 times on Sunday, leading to 41 Creighton points. The 'Dawgs offense was also limited to just four assists compared to 20 for the Bluejays.
Atosu led Butler in both points and assists.
Tenley Dowell came off the bench to add seven and
Ellen Ross was in the box score with six.
Naira Caceres filled up the stat sheet with four points, four rebounds, a team-high three steals and an assist. Freshman
Rosemarie Dumont jumped into the starting lineup vs. Creighton and would respond with a team-high five rebounds.
The Bulldogs will look to regroup as they prepare for a tough stretch of the 2020-21 schedule. They will play at #24 Michigan at 1 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 9 and follow that contest with a game at #16 Indiana on Sunday.
