How It Happened
The Bulldogs struck first, as
Ashley Steffes got Butler on the board, but Kent State responded in a flash. The two teams went back and forth for two more goals apiece before
Layla Tattersfield's second goal started a streak of four unanswered scores.
The Bulldogs led 10-6 at the half, and that lead would only stretch throughout the second period. Butler went on to score eight, including one in a man-down situation, to the Golden Flashes' three.
Defensively, Rumsey played all 60 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs, picking up 11 saves and a game-high three ground balls.
Mary Davide caused two turnovers and added two ground balls.
Next Up
The Bulldogs will close out their road swing at Akron on Sunday, March 1. The Zips are 0-4 in the first year of the program.
