Over the weekend,
Simon Bedard clocked a 14:00.54 to take sixth-place in the 5,000-meter race at the French National Championships in Albi, France.
This was the second time in just two weeks that Bedard has posted a top-10 finish at the national level. At the end of August, he took seventh in the 10,000-meter which is also part of the French National Championships. He set a personal best in the race with a time of 28:58:34.
Bedard also set a personal best in the 5,000-meter during a French regional earlier in August to qualify for the championships, posting a time of 13:59.32. The run made him the third current Bulldog to clock a sub-fourteen minute 5k time.
Prior to the regional race, Bedard's best collegiate outdoor 5,000-meter time came at the 2019 Bryan Clay Invite where he clocked a 14:11.28.
