@ButlerUWBB Falls at Hinkle to Seton Hall 79-64

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler and Seton Hall each made 25 field goals on Monday night, but a 12-point differential on the free throw line would separate the two teams and give the Pirates a 79-64 victory inside Hinkle Fieldhouse. Butler is now 0-7 on the season while Seton Hall improves to 4-3.

Andra Espinoza-Hunter hit seven of Seton Hall's 11 3-pointers on Monday to score a team-high 23 points. SHU point guard Lauren Parker-Lane was also instrumental in the outcome with 18 points, seven assists, four rebounds and one steal.

Butler's scoring leader was senior guard Genesis Parker. She was in the box score with 17 points while teammate Okako Adika contributed with 12 points and seven rebounds. Head Coach Kurt Godlevske also got a lift from Nyamer Diew. The true freshman hit all three of her 3-point field goals to end the game with 11 points.

Butler and Seton Hall were deadlocked at 17-17 after the first quarter. A 9-0 SHU scoring run in the second would move the game to 33-23 and Seton Hall would enjoy a nine-point advantage at the half 43-34.

The turning point in this one came in the final five minutes of the third quarter. Seton Hall outscored Butler 19-3 over the final 4:58. On top of that, SHU would come out in the fourth quarter to score the first seven points of that period. BU would eventually outscore their opponent in the fourth 17-10, but the damage had been done.

Butler will return to action on Wednesday afternoon with a 2 PM tip vs. Georgetown.
