INDIANAPOLIS – Butler and SIUE each shot over 50 percent from the field on Tuesday afternoon to light up the scoreboard inside Hinkle Fieldhouse. After 40 minutes of action, the Cougars would hand the Bulldogs an 87-74 setback.
 
How It Happened
SIUE used a 12-1 scoring run in the first quarter to open up a 28-15 lead over BU. The Bulldogs would battle back with 28 points of their own in the second frame, but would still face an eight-point deficit at the half.
 
After the stoppage, SIUE would come out of the locker room to score the first nine points of the second half. The Cougars outscored Butler 25-11 in the third to take a commanding lead and after 20 fourth quarter BU points the two teams would hear the final horn with SIUE claiming an 87-74 victory.
 
Mikia Keith led all players with 17 points and teammate Jaida Hampton would score 16 for the Cougars off the bench. SIUE outrebounded BU 35-20. That helped the Cougars win second chance points 21-8 and fast break points 16-2.

Emilia Sexton hit five 3-pointers on Tuesday to score 15 points for the Bulldogs.
