Paul Signorelli swept the first BIG EAST weekly honors for the 2021-22 track and field season thanks to recent performances that have them among the nation's best in their respective events.

Barry Keane, Butler, RSr., Distance (Waterford, Ireland)
In one of the most impressive races in Butler history,
Barry Keane set a new Ireland national record for an indoor 5,000 meters, crossing the line in 13:25.96 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Dec. 4.
Keane's time set a new Butler record by nearly 15 seconds, with the previous mark being 13:40.90. Overall, he ranks first in the BIG EAST and fifth in the nation in the event.

BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Paul Signorelli, Butler, Fr., Pole Vault (Cincinnati, Ohio)
Freshman
Paul Signorelli claimed the Butler school record in the pole vault in just the second meet of his Bulldog career. Signorelli won the event at the DePaul Blue Demon Holiday Invitational with a height of 5.10 meters (16'9"). The mark ranks first in the BIG EAST and 15th in the nation. His height a week ago, in his first Butler meet (Notre Dame's Blue & Gold Invitational), tied the existing school record held by
Wade Walder at 4.85 meters (15'11").
